Hybrid Cat Hull – Stable Enough to Stand and Sight Cast

The secret behind the SS107 is Bonafide's hybrid cat hull. It blends a catamaran-style twin keel with a flatter centre section, giving you rock-solid primary stability without making the boat a barge. At 88cm wide it's one of the most stable 10 foot kayaks around. Stand up, stretch the legs and sight cast to a snag, or brace your feet on the PerchPads™ on top of the gunwales to get even more height and see further into the water. Getting in and out from a muddy bank or a boat ramp is far less nerve-wracking too.

HiRise™ Seat – Bass Boat Comfort on a Kayak

The HiRise™ seating system sits you up high like the seat on a bass boat, which is great for your back and for spotting fish. Need a lower centre of gravity when the wind picks up? The SeatRack™ positioning system and foldable seat frame let you drop it down and slide it into position. Pair that with the Double Acting Foot Braces™ on an anodised aluminium track and you can dial in a comfortable position for any paddler. Ready for Customising

The SS107 comes ready to fish. YakAttack® Aluminium GearTrac™ gives you somewhere to mount rod holders, fish finders and camera arms. The Boss Strap™ rod management system and multiple rod and paddle management points keep your rods secure and out of the way of your casting. Up front, the DryPod™ has a transducer through-hull scupper, so you can install a sounder cleanly with no drilling holes in your hull. It also has an integrated Doubleheader hinge. Low-profile deck fittings mean fewer things to snag your line on, and the deck traction pads in the forward cockpit give you sure footing when standing.

The Junk Drawer™ – Clever Storage Right Under You

This is one of our favourite features. The Junk Drawer™ is a sliding storage drawer tucked under the seat, so your lures, leader, pliers and snacks are within easy reach without twisting around or digging through a bag. The rear tankwell has room for a crate full of rods, a bait bucket or an esky (a Pelican ExoCrate with our ExoCrate rod supports is a great combo), and the stern access plate gives you access to the inside of the hull for rigging or dry storage.

34kg and Easy to Handle – On and Off the Water

The SS107 weighs 34kg without the seat (38kg with it). That's a manageable weight for a rotomoulded fishing kayak with this level of rigging. The Fat Grip™ bow handle and retractable Fat Grip™ stern handle both have comfort inserts, so carrying it with a mate doesn't chew up your hands. The side carry handle doubles as paddle storage. Replaceable dual stern skid plates protect the hull when you drag it up a boat ramp or across rocks, and you can simply swap them out when they wear rather than wearing through the hull.

Where Does the Bonafide SS107 Fishing Kayak Shine?

We like to be upfront here. The SS107 is at its best on flat water, lakes, dams, estuaries and slow-moving rivers (Bonafide rate it 10/10 on flat water and 9/10 for agility). It spins on a dime to get into tight snags and backwaters, which is exactly what you want when chasing fish around structure.
